In lieu of third-quarter progress reports, we will hold parent partnership meetings for teachers to share artifacts of student work and discuss academic progress. Friday, April 3 is a no-school day, so that from 8:15 am to 4:00 pm, we can offer 25-minute meetings with the option of in-person or remote. Many of our students are interested in engaging more deeply in their art education, and we'd like to start building a library for our art program. Pi Day

This Friday, March 13, we are celebrating Pi Day with a pizza party during lunch! Students are welcome to bring a homemade pie to share with others, but a full ingredient list must be included for allergen safety. We're also holding an art contest for the best representation of pi. Our teachers are taking a real summer break this year, so we won't be offering summer camps as we have in years past. Instead, we're partnering with Dr. Joshua Gladstein (an OT who works with many of our students on campus each week) to bring you summer camps on Trillium's campus.

Tech use is a common concern for our parents, and we are offering a new parent education and connection series in partnership with Daniel Oglivie, our part-time counselor who specializes in video gaming addiction. The first few sessions will include presentations on screen compulsion, tech use disorder vs. addiction, and Trillium's approach to mitigating tech issues. Later sessions will evolve based on the group's interests and needs, focused on collaborative discussion.

Trillium family volunteers have organized a delightful weekend for us to spend time in community, March 20 through March 22 (with the option to stay through March 23, since there's no school on Monday).

This is an unhosted event, so families can choose how to engage in this weekend in a way that best meets their needs. If you aren’t able to join us for the full weekend or can’t stay overnight, the bulk of the activities will happen on Saturday, so we hope you'll come for part of the weekend. We will have a menu of options for people to choose from, including a hike, exploring charming Blaine, group lunch, and s’mores on the beach if the weather cooperates.

The pub crawl events are come as you are, buy your own, parent get-togethers. We'll gather in different corners of the Seattle metro area, bringing the Trillium Community to your neighborhood.

Jessamy Whitsitt, our parent education speaker for this spring, is offering a parent growth and support group for parents of neurodivergent kids. Meeting on Tuesdays over lunch from March 17 through April 28 (*skipping April 14 for spring break), this group will meet on Zoom to cultivate community, discuss low-demand parenting, learn new strategies, and more.
