Forging a New Path in 2e Education
Trillium Academy was born out of a vision of a group of passionate parents who recognized a significant need in Seattle: a school that understands the asynchronous development of twice-exceptional (2e) learners and truly celebrates and supports their unique strengths and needs.
From the beginning, we’ve believed that a strengths-based approach to education is the key to unlocking a world of possibilities for 2e learners. Here, learners are encouraged to be themselves, unmask, and grow in a space that adapts to them, not the other way around.

A Community Rooted in Belonging
At Trillium, we know that meaningful learning happens when students feel seen, supported, and celebrated. Our staffulty (our team of staff and faculty) work in close partnership with our students to cultivate a community where creativity, consideration, and passion thrive.
Students’ academic journey is integrated with executive functioning and social-emotional development to help each learner build the confidence and resiliency needed to sustain their natural curiosity and love of learning.

Inspired by Nature, Grounded in Growth
As we imagined what this community could become, we found inspiration for our community’s name in the Trillium plant. These beautiful perennials grow in shaded, forested areas, often taking years to bloom—but once they do, they are a sight to behold. The trillium’s journey is a powerful symbol of strength, resilience, and a deeply individual growth process, much like the unique developmental paths that our 2e students traverse.
At Trillium Academy, we provide a nurturing environment that allows every student to root deeply, grow confidently, and bloom in their own brilliant way.
