Movement
In Movement classes, we prioritize choice and flexibility by encouraging students to move their bodies through a variety of activities rather than centering traditional physical education. Some students channel creativity and leadership by inventing new games and teaching their peers; others immerse themselves in role-play through LARPing at the park. Students may also lift weights, do cardio, or explore the neighborhood on walks while learning more about the city around them.
Students practice regulating emotions when navigating competition, disagreement, or unexpected outcomes. These classes are low-friction opportunities to build relationships, strengthen teamwork and communication skills, and face challenges in a safe, supportive environment.
