Our Board's Strategic Planning Retreat
Our Board and Admin Leadership team spent three days together last week discussing and planning for year two and beyond at Trillium Academy. Jean Orvis, a consultant for independent schools with a long history in the Seattle area, facilitated our conversations.
In our discussions, we focused on four key strategy areas: identity, culture and community, finances, and program and curriculum. We drafted strategic goal statements for each of these focus areas and identified initiatives and actions needed to achieve them. This was an incredible opportunity for us to connect, and we are excited to continue to build this amazing community and school!

Reframe & Reconnect: Parent Education & Connection Opportunity
Trillium is working with [Peopling](https://ysm8sxhbb.cc.rs6.net/tn.jsp?f=001S1Z8JYkq9koE5M0UoILAyrWZ5R_D0ilS1u-qsJZhDj7lyfWzlR5Gpli15Gd9Hqn0SQ1mJTqSiPsE3ZqFLLNxA0PQJWk4XCzEYcFTVFztRYDsyg0SQ7xWMQdTWVl3c1bH4vbH3DbkiGvC-AyOx92Fvg==&c=0eLxDlFyWlzpMK4AI4pxIvtgBRHhHZ5Z2E-2qeXDe9QtBWYq8-kx5g==&ch=Ngnf9lXo2lfGXEZHNIeCnbb-1r-zrmsVjjyuTr0pADlJEZRNk2PJvw==) this summer to provide an education and connection opportunity for parents. This short series is designed to help parents better understand and connect with their neurodivergent children in a supportive community.
Supported by our own Mike Haykin, who helped build our student support model, you'll dive into bite-sized learning experiences on your own time and engage in community discussions with other Trillium parents a few times this summer. The orientation and discussions will take place at 3:00 pm on July 10, July 24, July 31, August 7, and August 14. How to Connect with the Trillium Community
There are a few ways to stay connected with Trillium families this summer:
* Join the [Discord](https://ysm8sxhbb.cc.rs6.net/tn.jsp?f=001S1Z8JYkq9koE5M0UoILAyrWZ5R_D0ilS1u-qsJZhDj7lyfWzlR5Gpq5bOpDaxbMpZCOfHwHyEYK74YPJMNAk4aYN_NT5w5DIVCGc-h6DzZbeATE2dE3irfHOgb0rSr7qJ0jdBilgDJ2m1tyJmpqAiaNtLiiUyaPe&c=0eLxDlFyWlzpMK4AI4pxIvtgBRHhHZ5Z2E-2qeXDe9QtBWYq8-kx5g==&ch=Ngnf9lXo2lfGXEZHNIeCnbb-1r-zrmsVjjyuTr0pADlJEZRNk2PJvw==) chat to coordinate meet-ups, share resources, and plan parent and family gatherings. This is the easiest way to connect with the larger Trillium community.
* Use the [school directory](https://ysm8sxhbb.cc.rs6.net/tn.jsp?f=001S1Z8JYkq9koE5M0UoILAyrWZ5R_D0ilS1u-qsJZhDj7lyfWzlR5GpvZnTFiLkYIEAO4fyT3Z7NW1uLF2NeQ79HEXhNilNCswtDmDh1o7DAyV3zMjqF69u5ehxonHMjBa-Ku2F0wa6okuD13wjsOs7YeWvaoNdJSmkUKg3RrAo980xY-c9a0js06vUR4SlZccdvDW-zBtPc8=&c=0eLxDlFyWlzpMK4AI4pxIvtgBRHhHZ5Z2E-2qeXDe9QtBWYq8-kx5g==&ch=Ngnf9lXo2lfGXEZHNIeCnbb-1r-zrmsVjjyuTr0pADlJEZRNk2PJvw==) to find contact information for other parents and caregivers for one-on-one hangs (the password is ExceptionalK!ds).
* Fill out the [community event request form](https://ysm8sxhbb.cc.rs6.net/tn.jsp?f=001S1Z8JYkq9koE5M0UoILAyrWZ5R_D0ilS1u-qsJZhDj7lyfWzlR5Gpq5bOpDaxbMpcZ_mr5ydY-KqZqwEyR996FSCsk4a0pwefXQNkj7nVQoNX18j9Qc3EDFl1Dd4AQlhyWMp21R_RtC4tZ3Qj0wGoJo0eneMFpSoTg726yuP9hQVU5Sp4Zg3zYk6O81GI-dBLiYXgFsygq_5ysysyICSP00tTAGwlfRtv04fngN2AahIM2veMf7o3UeXSCmfqBDe_NjYLkZX5VSjgJMUMzxtPn30OxfPiNdo&c=0eLxDlFyWlzpMK4AI4pxIvtgBRHhHZ5Z2E-2qeXDe9QtBWYq8-kx5g==&ch=Ngnf9lXo2lfGXEZHNIeCnbb-1r-zrmsVjjyuTr0pADlJEZRNk2PJvw==) if you want to host an event – from a meet up at a coffee shop to an event on Trillium's campus, you can request events through this form. If you are planning an event that is not on campus and does not require staffulty support, you can also directly post in Discord (without going through the event vetting process).
* Subscribe to the [school's Google calendar](https://ysm8sxhbb.cc.rs6.net/tn.jsp?f=001S1Z8JYkq9koE5M0UoILAyrWZ5R_D0ilS1u-qsJZhDj7lyfWzlR5GpvZnTFiLkYIEF7eSoQj4y3tNs5OFw98ZOLvHAbyUPmOFPju54Tao7Azk-dQeXEPQnj_hfROAwxs9KJkUSTvAr7K4HaSv-X6ZVGaKUhoIf3FkerjJaEBp_8A=&c=0eLxDlFyWlzpMK4AI4pxIvtgBRHhHZ5Z2E-2qeXDe9QtBWYq8-kx5g==&ch=Ngnf9lXo2lfGXEZHNIeCnbb-1r-zrmsVjjyuTr0pADlJEZRNk2PJvw==) to integrate Trillium's events with your family's personal calendar
