Announcing Trillium's 2025-26 Division Deans

I am excited to announce that Genevieve Norwood has been appointed Dean of Students for High School and Alexander Stern has been appointed Dean of Students for Middle / Lower School at Trillium Academy for the upcoming 2025-2026 school year.

Both Gen and Alexander have been integral members of our community during our inaugural year, embodying our core values of consideration, creativity, and growth mindset in their work with our twice-exceptional students.

Genevieve Norwood, High School Dean of Students
As a Humanities teacher at Trillium this year, Gen has demonstrated exceptional skill in creating inclusive learning environments where students feel accepted and celebrated. Her extensive background supporting students' social-emotional wellbeing shines through in her classroom approach and individualized support. Before joining Trillium, Gen spent several years coaching middle school, high school, and college students on executive functioning skills—expertise that directly benefits our 2e learners who often navigate executive function challenges. Throughout her career, Gen has provided holistic support, interweaving social-emotional learning throughout her curriculum. She has extensive experience working with students and their families to coordinate communication and collaboration between school and home while building student’s sense of competence and agency.

Alexander Stern, Middle School Dean of Students
Alexander has thrived as a Teacher Leader at Trillium this year, working across both our middle and high school divisions while developing a special affinity for the unique energy and developmental opportunities that middle school students present. They bring contagious enthusiasm for the middle school years—a time of tremendous growth, exploration, and identity formation—and a vision for creating programs that embrace the wide range of developmental stages within this age group. Alexander's extensive background in neurodiversity coaching at The How Skills has equipped them with specialized knowledge in supporting executive function development and creating inclusive environments. Their experience designing and implementing systems that respect student autonomy while providing necessary structure makes them ideally suited to build a middle school program that celebrates the asynchronous development so common in our 2e learners.

Both deans bring a deep understanding of our mission to break away from conventional schooling and celebrate the incredible capabilities of our twice-exceptional students. As we move from our founding year into year two, Gen and Alexander will build upon the foundation we've established, advancing our commitment to student well-being, high academic standards, and fostering inclusion and belonging.

Please join me in congratulating Gen and Alexander on their new roles!
