Math Teacher

  • Compensation: $60,000–$90,000

Position Overview

Trillium Academy seeks a compassionate and flexible Math Teacher to join our staffulty (staff + faculty) for the 2025–2026 school year. This position involves teaching middle and high school math courses—including Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1 & 2, Geometry, and Statistics—while supporting students with a wide range of abilities and confidence levels. A strong understanding of Algebra 2 is essential.

The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in math instruction, comfort with differentiation and remediation, and a passion for helping neurodiverse learners succeed. This is a ten-month, full-time position that follows the academic calendar and reports to the division leadership team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach middle and high school math courses with clarity, creativity, and strong content knowledge, including Algebra, Geometry, and Statistics
  • Design and deliver lessons that differentiate for diverse learning profiles and readiness levels
  • Support remediation for students who need to revisit core skills, while also challenging advanced learners
  • Integrate real-world applications, project-based learning, and student interests into the curriculum
  • Build strong relationships with students and families rooted in trust and clear communication
  • Contribute to progress monitoring, support plans, and regular feedback for students
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure alignment across disciplines and grade levels
  • Engage fully in co-curricular programming, community events, and professional learning to support a vibrant, inclusive school culture

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in mathematics, education, or a related field
  • Experience teaching middle and/or high school math; independent school and/or 2e student experience is a plus
  • Deep understanding of neurodiversity and twice-exceptionality
  • Commitment to strength-based learning and differentiated instruction
  • Familiarity with tools to support executive functioning and math anxiety
  • Strong interpersonal and classroom management skills
  • Flexible, collaborative, and committed to continuous improvement
  • Comfort with integrating technology into instruction and assessment
  • WA State teaching certification or eligibility preferred
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.; Trillium does not offer visa sponsorship

Work Environment & Physical Demands

  • Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and operate standard office equipment
  • Ability to lift and move objects up to 25 pounds occasionally
  • 8:00am–4:00pm Monday–Friday, with occasional evening and weekend commitments
  • Frequent movement between classrooms and activity spaces
  • Supervision responsibilities during non-classroom times
  • Participation in safety drills and behavioral support interventions
  • Emotional resilience to support students with diverse and complex needs
  • Regular use of technology and learning management systems
